Big Berries Camping Meadow

Our large non-electric camping meadow is located at the side of the Park, with countryside views and a glimpse of the sea from the top of the gentle slope. This spacious meadow is popular with families and has a fun, festival-style vibe. 

Choosing your pitch

Our meadow is a very large, unmarked field and guests can choose to pitch wherever they like, provided you are 3 metres from your closest neighbours. You should easily be able to pitch next to friends/family, but we cannot guarantee this when we are fully booked. 

For campervans who may vacate their pitch during the day, reserved signs are available to borrow from the Park Reception for a small refundable deposit, or you may use your own. Please note, the meadow is on a gentle slope. 

Our meadow is suitable for: 

• Tents 
• Tent Box / Roof Tents
• Small campervans 

Our meadow is NOT suitable for: 

• Motorhomes 
• Touring Caravans 
• RVs 

You may bring small gazebos and wind breaks. 

What’s Included

The base price of the pitch includes 2 people. You can add additional guests, up to a total of 8 people and 3 dogs, as extras. All bookings must contain one adult over the age of 18. 

Extras

• Wifi can be purchased on arrival, either online via Paypal, or via the Park Reception. 
• Further on in the booking process you will have the option to add extras to your booking, including Leisure Club passes, an additional car or extra flexibility cover. 

 
Park Access
Please be aware that access to the park entrance is down a 0.7 mile lane from Chideock to Seatown. There are multiple passing points, specifically suitable for the length and size of motorhomes and touring caravans. 

Facility Blocks

There is a small block with toilets and sinks in the centre of the meadow. The main facility block is a short walk away and contains separate male and female toilet and shower areas with baby change areas. There are also washing up areas, a paid laundry room and ice block freezer. There are water points in the meadow and refuse and recycling bins at the entrance. 

Arrival & Departure 

Check In: From 1pm 

Check Out: By 11am 

You do not need to come into Reception on arrival or when you leave. We do not offer early check-ins. Late check-outs may be possible on low/mid season depending on availability, but cannot be booked in advance – speak to our Reception Team first thing on your day of departure if you would like this. 

Weather notice

Our meadow is located on a gentle hillside near the coast. This does mean that it is sometimes exposed to the coastal weather. We recommend ensuring you use strong pegs and follow PSI guidelines for inflatable awnings or tents and keep a close eye on forecasted conditions. We have processes in place when windy weather is forecast, however only a very small proportion of our bookings are affected by bad weather each year. 

Our Location

Golden Cap is an award-winning Holiday Park in an incredible location just behind Seatown Beach on the Jurassic Coast. Guests can spend their days walking the South West Coast Path, enjoying bbqs on the beach, or watching the sun go down from the Anchor Inn’s cliffside beer garden. There’s also two more great pubs just a short walk away in the village of Chideock. 

If you want to venture further, it’s not far to drive (or get the bus) to Bridport, West Bay or Lyme Regis, all of which are characterful towns that are worth a visit. Bridport offers a thriving twice-weekly market, while Lyme Regis and West Bay have that bustling seaside feel, with fish & chip and ice cream kiosks you won’t want to walk past!

Securing your booking

A 10% deposit is required at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due 6 weeks before your arrival date. If there is less than 6 weeks before your arrival, the full balance will be required upfront. Any amendments to your holiday after the booking is completed will incur a £25 admin charge each time.
