Gravel Pitch

Our flat gravel pitches are located at the end of the Park, in an area with fantastic sea views over the Jurassic Coast, and with quick access to the facility blocks, South West Coast Path, children’s play area and off-lead dog exercising meadow. 

 
Choosing your pitch

We do not allocate or book pitches in advance, instead you will choose your favourite available pitch on arrival. We therefore cannot guarantee that you will get a sea view directly from your pitch, or that you will be able to pitch next to friends/family. 

For motorhomes and campervans who may vacate their pitch during the day, reserved signs are available to borrow from the Park Reception for a small refundable deposit, or you may use your own. 

If you need to be close to a facility block for accessibility reasons, please contact us the day before your arrival and we will do our best to reserve a pitch that is appropriate, depending on availability. 

Our gravel pitches are suitable for units up to 10 metres in size, including:

Our gravel pitches are NOT suitable for: 

• Tents 

Awnings are permitted, and you may bring small gazebos and wind breaks, though there is a limit of unit per pitch. 

What's Included

• 16 Amp electric hook-up 
• Access to water points 
• Grass parking for 1 car 
• Access to facility blocks 

The base price of the pitch includes 2 people. You can add additional guests, up to a total of 8 people and 3 dogs, as extras. All bookings must contain one adult over the age of 18. 

Extras

Wifi can be purchased on arrival, either online via Paypal, or via the Park Reception. Further on in the booking process you will have the option to add extras to your booking, including Leisure Club passes, an additional car or extra flexibility cover. 

Facility Blocks

There are two facility blocks located in this area of the Park, close to the gravel pitches. The blocks contain separate male and female toilet and shower areas with baby change areas and a RADAR locked accessible wet room. There are also washing up areas, a dishwasher, a paid laundry room, ice block freezer, dog shower, motorhome service point and chemical disposal rooms. Please note, at times we may close one block for cleaning, but one will always remain open. Refuse and recycling bins are located at three convenient points. 

Arrival & Departure

Check In: From 1pm 

Check Out: By 11am

You do not need to come into Reception on arrival or when you leave. We do not offer early check-ins. Late check-outs may be possible on low/mid season depending on availability, but cannot be booked in advance – speak to our Reception Team first thing on your day of departure if you would like this. 

Notices

Our pitches are located on the clifftop to make the most of the spectacular views. This does mean that they are exposed to the coastal weather. We recommend ensuring you use strong pegs and follow PSI guidelines for inflatable awnings or tents and keep a close eye on forecasted conditions. We have processes in place when windy weather is forecast, however only a very small proportion of our bookings are affected by bad weather each year. 

Due to our rural location, badgers have been spotted in this area of the Park. Food, washing up or anything with strong smells should not be left in awnings or tents overnight and we recommend storing in airtight containers or inside your vehicle to avoid any unwanted visitors!

About The Park 

Highlands End is a multi-award-winning Holiday Park in an incredible location. On the Park is a range of facilities designed to keep the whole family busy. Martin’s Bar & Restaurant is open daily, with a hearty menu showcasing Dorset’s best local food and drink, as well as live music and children’s entertainment during peak holiday times. There’s a large sun-trap beer garden, and an outdoor play area, and inside there’s a soft play* for younger children too.

Next door is Highlands End Leisure Club, with a swimming pool, sauna and steam room, and outside, on a 9 acre course overlooking West Bay, you’ll find Dorset Foot Golf - our 18 hole course with obstacles - fun for the whole family! The Park is also a working farm, with alpacas and sheep. Please note Winter opening times vary and facilities maybe closed.

Walking distance from the bustling harbour of West Bay with kiosks, pubs and cafés, but also the quiet and dog-friendly Eype Beach. In the nearby town of Bridport you’ll find shops, restaurants and a thriving twice-weekly market as well as a long list of events throughout the year, ranging from well-known comedy acts at the Electric Palace, to the quirky Bridport Hat Festival. Highlands End is also perfectly situated between Weymouth and Lyme Regis, making both of these popular coastal towns an easy day trip.

Attractions within a 15 minute drive from the park include Symondsbury Estate, West Bay Discovery Centre, Bridport Museum, Colmer's Hill, Lyme Bay RIB Charter, Bridport and West Dorset Golf Club, Dorset Nectar Cider, Viking Village, Furleigh Estate Wine Tours, Palmer's Brewery Tours and Jurassic Journeys.

Securing Your Booking

A 10% deposit is required at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due 6 weeks before your arrival date. If there is less than 6 weeks before your arrival, the full balance will be required upfront. Any amendments to your holiday after the booking is completed will incur a £25 admin charge each time.

   Location was superb. Site was lovely and peaceful and the surrounding area ( for walking ) was excellent. Oh and we had the best weather we could have hoped for in late September so it made for a great few days stay.

   Location is perfect especially when the weather is fabulous. Facilities as always are first class and the whole site is kept very clean. Do like the Spar Shop which is stocked with a variety of food and accessories at a reasonable price. The bar area is very spacious, plenty of seating inside and out. Do like the discount card which is worth purchasing. Lastly the Sunday Roast is very good, great choices of vegetables, and good meat portions offered by the chef. Still out favourite site to stay at.

   I just love the site it's one off my favourite. The upkeep is superb on the pitches and toilets etc . We managed to get a good pitch overlooking the bay which gave us a beautiful sun set one evening. Also the staff in shop and on the reception are polite, helpful and friendly.

   Contactless entry is fantastic. No queues or having to get out of the van to go and check in. Inputting pitch number is a great improvement. The site is absolutely spotless. The pitches the grass, the hedges are all pristine. The toilet block is spotlessly clean. The showers were hot with excellent pressure. Notices all the new (to us) signs for different walks around the site.

    We really loved our stay at Highlands End. The park is really well kept, and the facilities are fantastic. We were camping so used the shower block, it was always clean and plenty of hot water for a shower. We enjoyed Martins Bar, friendly staff and a lovely pizza on Pizza Night. The location to Eype Beach and West Bay are great. We enjoyed walking to both with our dogs. The lovely dog wash was fantastic, especially after a run on the beach.
