Camping Meadow

Our two spacious non-electric camping meadows are located at the edge of our Park, with easy access to footpaths and plenty of surrounding grass space for children to play. 

Sandyholme is a small, quiet Park, tucked away in a secluded village location on the edge of the Isle of Purbeck. The Park is surrounded by woodland and rolling fields, with very little passing traffic. Children can enjoy the play area and large playing field with football goals, and the ducks and wild birds from our small lake can often be found wandering throughout the Park. Just 5 miles from the coast at Ringstead Bay, you’re within easy reach of some of Dorset’s most famous and popular places to visit, including Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove, Weymouth Beach, Studland Bay and Old Harry Rocks. There’s also some incredible attractions nearby such as Monkey World, The Tank Museum and a range of places to visit in the historic county town of Dorchester. 

Choosing your pitch

Our meadows are two large, unmarked fields and guests can choose to pitch wherever they like in either field, provided you are 3 metres from your closest neighbours. With so much space, you should easily be able to pitch next to friends/family. 

For campervans who may vacate their pitch during the day, reserved signs are available to borrow from the Park Reception for a small refundable deposit, or you may use your own. 

If you need to be close to a facility block for accessibility reasons, please contact us the day before your arrival and we will do our best to reserve a pitch that is appropriate, depending on availability.

Our meadow is NOT suitable for: 

• RVs 

Awnings are permitted, and you may bring small gazebos and wind breaks, though there is a limit of 1 unit per pitch. 

What’s Included

The base price of the pitch includes 2 people. You can add additional guests, up to a total of 8 people and 3 dogs, as extras. All bookings must contain one adult over the age of 18. 

Extras

• Wifi can be purchased on arrival, either online via Paypal, or via the Park Reception. 
• Further on in the booking process you will have the option to add extras to your booking including an additional car or extra flexibility cover. 

Facility Blocks 

The main facility block is located in the centre of the main area of the Park, containing separate male and female toilet and an accessible wet room/family room with baby change area. There are also washing up areas, a paid laundry room, ice block freezer, motorhome service point, chemical disposal point and refuse and recycling bins. During peak season, you will also find an additional facility block with toilets and sinks in the entrance to one of the meadows.

Check In: From 1pm 

Check Out: By 11am 

You do not need to come into Reception on arrival or when you leave. We do not offer early check-ins. Late check-outs may be possible on low/mid season depending on availability, but cannot be booked in advance – speak to our Reception Team first thing on your day of departure if you would like this. 

Securing your booking

A 10% deposit is required at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due 6 weeks before your arrival date. If there is less than 6 weeks before your arrival, the full balance will be required upfront. Any amendments to your holiday after the booking is completed will incur a £25 admin charge each time.

   The peace and quiet was my favorite thing. I really enjoyed walking around the duck pond and watching the stars in the evening as well as the bats and listening to the owls. Showers and loos immaculate at all times. Everything you need for a lovely camping trip.

   Arrival all straight forward, having been given code beforehand. Having stayed a few times there is comfort in the familiar. We like the face thatwe can freeze our freezer blocks to use during the day to help keep things cool. Thinks we did thatwere memorable: Scrambling on the rocks at Dancing Ledge, going up Hardy's monument, ecounteringpeople runningthrough the Lulworth ranges on their 100mile ultra marathon over 2 days (Poole to Exmouth). (I pity them in the heat) We probaby walked the same distace along parts of thecoast path but we did it over 7days. We like a pitch that means we can access the main facilities block rather than the seasonal one so in the field near the pond suits us. The staff (sorry I can't remember your names) arealways friendly and make you feel very welcome. Overall we had a good time. Thanks.
