Grass Electric Pitch

 Our grass pitches are located along one side of a quiet and flat meadow, with plenty of surrounding grass space. 

Sandyholme is a small, quiet Park, tucked away in a secluded village location on the edge of the Isle of Purbeck. The Park is surrounded by woodland and rolling fields, with very little passing traffic. Children can enjoy the play area and large playing field with football goals, and the ducks and wild birds from our small lake can often be found wandering throughout the Park. Just 5 miles from the coast at Ringstead Bay, you’re within easy reach of some of Dorset’s most famous and popular places to visit, including Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove, Weymouth Beach, Studland Bay and Old Harry Rocks. There’s also some incredible attractions nearby such as Monkey World, The Tank Museum and a range of places to visit in the historic county town of Dorchester. 

Choosing your pitch 

We do not allocate or book pitches in advance, instead you will choose your favourite available pitch on arrival. We therefore cannot guarantee that you will be able to pitch next to friends/family. 

For motorhomes and campervans who may vacate their pitch during the day, reserved signs are available to borrow from the Park Reception for a small refundable deposit, or you may use your own. 

If you need to be close to a facility block for accessibility reasons, please contact us the day before your arrival and we will do our best to reserve a pitch that is appropriate, depending on availability. 

Our grass pitches are suitable for units up to 9 metres in size, including:

• Touring Caravans 

Our grass pitches are NOT suitable for: 

• RVs 

Awnings are permitted, and you may bring small gazebos and wind breaks, though there is a limit of 1 unit per pitch. 

What’s Included 

• 16 Amp electric hook-up 
• Access to water points 
• Grass parking for 1 car 
• Access to facility blocks 

The base price of the pitch includes 2 people. You can add additional guests, up to a total of 8 people and 3 dogs, as extras. All bookings must contain one adult over the age of 18. 

Extras

• Wifi can be purchased on arrival, either online via Paypal, or via the Park Reception. 
• Further on in the booking process you will have the option to add extras to your booking including an additional car or extra flexibility cover. 

Facility Blocks

The main facility block is located nearby, in the centre of the Park, containing separate male and female toilet and an accessible wet room/family room with baby change area. There are also washing up areas, a paid laundry room, ice block freezer, motorhome service point, chemical disposal point and refuse and recycling bins. During peak season, you will also find an additional facility block with toilets and sinks in a neighbouring meadow, closer to our grass pitches.

Check In: From 1pm 

Check Out: By 11am 

You do not need to come into Reception on arrival or when you leave. We do not offer early check-ins. Late check-outs may be possible on low/mid season depending on availability, but cannot be booked in advance – speak to our Reception Team first thing on your day of departure if you would like this. 

Securing your booking

A 10% deposit is required at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due 6 weeks before your arrival date. If there is less than 6 weeks before your arrival, the full balance will be required upfront. Any amendments to your holiday after the booking is completed will incur a £25 admin charge each time.

   We had a fabulous time. The facilities were very well maintained. The van driving around keeping everything tidy and clean was evident and they were very helpful. The shop, freezers and showers were all excellent and I will recommend this others.

   The campsite was great. The staff were very friendly. There was plenty of space for children to play which was great. The pop up cocktail bar and pizza was fantastic, a great addition to the site. Was lovely being able to get a cocktail the staff working there were also very lovely. The pitch size were great eith ehu. Staff relaxed being able to pitch gazebo in front of tent. The toilets and showers were clean. The family bathroom was great.

   This was our 5th year in a row. We stayed for a week, straight after school was out for summer. This was the first time we took our dog camping. The children absolutely loved venturing around the park, pond, football field and fields. We knew they were safe and members of staff were so friendly and always around. Our dog had the best time, especially with the dog field to have a good run around. Thank you x

   Fantastic base location to the Jurassic coast and all it has to offer! The site was wonderful, all you needed for a comfortable stay. Lovely places the walk round, dog area and areas for the children to enjoy. Bacon sandwich from the Martins Smokey fire truck was just what we needed to start the day off, and ended with the most delicious cocktails in the evening!

   Very clean, and very good shower/ toilet facilities, which is what we use to determine whether to stay somewhere. If they are good, the rest of the site is usually well looked after too. The site is well situated, in a quiet area, yet easy to explore the surrounding towns and coast.

    We booked a grass pitch with electric and were very happy at being able to choose our pitch. Sandyholme is a beautiful site and very well kept. We found the booking process fairy easy and the online communication worked well for us. It was nice not to feel overcrowded and everyone was friendly and respectful of space and privacy. It would be great if the shop had slightly longer opening hours or possibly a vending machine for a few essential chilled products. Overall we had a lovely time and wouldn’t hesitate to return.
